“Get outta the way if you don’t wanna get hit.” Already, just the very first line of Myles’ latest single is poppin’! If I am to be completely honest, everything that YBM releases is straight up fire and I love that! If you want to have a clear definition of my music taste, I will easily tell you to give Myles a listen.
The lyrics are always catchy and it is easy to catch the vibes of the song. “We gonna start a mosh pit.” I can see this being a banger at the next house party, and I am pretty sure some crowd-surfing will also occur! I do not dance, but I can see myself trying to dance to this song. Or maybe just bopping around, I am not sure yet, so someone play this at a party, please! It might be terrifying to start a mosh pit, but I think it is a fun experience to be a part of it. Let’s just hope that no one goes too violent though. It is fun if everyone is just there to have fun and to enjoy the music together!
Myles has changed his music taste over the years, and I think that it is for the better. He sounds way more confident than his Kalin and Myles days, where you might recognize him from Love Robbery (2014), Trampoline (2014), Do My Step (2014), and Get It Get It Get It (2015). However, with just Myles, you might know him from Mobbin (2016) and Notification (2017). He has started off rapping on the side of KAM songs, but now, he has as much of the spotlight as he pleases. In all honesty, there was a time when Myles stated that he did not like the vibe of some Kalin and Myles songs, which really shocked me. Because yes, there might be songs you do not like, but they are still a part of my childhood (or teenaged life).
It is such a blessing to see the growth and development of Myles throughout the years, whether starting at house parties in Dublin, CA, to meeting Kalin White and creating Kalin and Myles, to working with his brother JakeeyP, to going on a national-wide tour with Jacy and Lost Boy, to Hyphy Holidays. Myles is my inspiration and my hero, although he might not know that. He saved my life when I was growing up. Kalin and Myles was literally the only reason why I woke up various mornings. Just hearing Myles’ voice gets me so happy that I can forget my problems temporarily.
Myles is such a sweetheart, and I am so blessed to have met him a few times in the past. Each road trip was worth it, because he attempts to have a genuine conversation with as many fans as he can. There is a lyric in one of his songs, Prevost, where Parrish says,
“I’m trynna be meet and greetin’ everybody that’s been tweeting
I’m trynna look you in your eyes
when I say thank you for believing in your boy
thank you for your patience, thank you for your love
thank you for the way that you was there when no one was”
But in all honesty, I have Myles to thank for so much opportunities in my life. Without him, I would not even have started this blog! Why? Because I would really love to work with Myles one day, even if it means that I will be writing up about him. It’s a great start, and I will keep on chasing my dreams!
