On his 23rd birthday, Kalin White released his latest single “thought you knew” and I cannot think of a better way for KSmoov to be celebrating! Remember two years when Kalin released his Chapter 21 debut album? The feels are totally getting to me. After the breakup of Kalin and Myles, I am quite proud to see how far Kalin has gotten on his own. He is able to use his vocals and get a “bedroom vibe” with his music. Totally love it.
This song is essentially all about hurt in a relationship and potentially messing around. But what I want to say is that every relationship is different, but what needs to be essential is honesty. If you want to see other people, go ahead, but at least let the other person know. This is is all about miscommunication, and this is an issue that needs to be addressed. A line is mentioned that you do not need to be looking through their phone. And that is true. Trust is needed for a relationship to thrive. The way that I see it, Kalin is a straight up hotshot. Of course he would be found partying with other females, but honestly, if you are the one that you ends up leaving with, than aren’t you the lucky one for having his attention? In the music industry, of course the artist will have a mob of fans drooling over them. But as long as intentions are clear that they’re there just for business, there should not be much of a problem.
Recently signed to Above Ground, Kalin is in the same management as the one and only Kehlani! Collaboration someday, I hope? Twenty-three, referred to as Jordan Year, is a big one for Kalin. In 2017, Kalin released some new singles and remixes, and who knows what 2018 will bring for him. Already, he started off 2018 with his birthday and releasing this single. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings for him! Kalin is still at the age of figuring himself out, and he actively lets his thoughts out through music, spending time with friends, and playing basketball. So to hear the emotions in this single gives a better insight to what Kalin might be going through.
