“You met him on a blind date…” Before you judge the song from the first lyric, I want to say, yes. People can fall for people on a blind date. Some people believe love at first sight to be a real thing. And to those who do see that, I do not know if you are just being naive or if your heart is actually big enough to immediately fall in love with someone.
However, if you fall for someone, I just want to state that there is the possibility that things are not going to work out. It is just inevitable. You do not know where the future will take you, whether he will be there or not. And there will always be that one other guy who wishes he can be with you. But isn’t it funny how that usually happens once you are already in a relationship? Think about it.
I have not listened to Huey Mack in years! Since the “Charlotte” (2013) days, to be completely honest. This song was produced by kojo a. and nicky quinn, featuring gianni and kyle. Already, I was anticipating a vibe somewhat like “fuckboi,” (2016) which was one of my favorite songs back in 2017. And there is that vibe! You know, the whole keeping it real type of thing.
This song is about dissing the guy the girl is with. He says “it’s hard to believe, but I got all that you need.” A typical line a guy would say when he wants you. But for what? Does he love you, or is he just wanting someone who is taken? It’s complicated at times. Some good points are brought up in this song, such as how sometimes it is better to be more street smart than it is to be book smart.
I find it adorable when a guy takes time out of his day to tell you that you do not deserve the guy you are dating. Especially if you respect the person telling you. It takes balls at times to be honest and tell your concerns to someone. The whole courting and serenading. Ugh, I totally live for that. Like yes, tell me how you feel and if the guy is not good enough for me, let me know. Let me know that you care. Even if you find the guy that I love to be a complete douche in your eyes, just let me know.
And to the ladies out there – just because you think he is the best thing in the world does not always mean that. He might just be holding you back. Not understanding you. And that sucks. But guys, stop being so cocky in the process. Just because you have someone does not always mean that it will work out. It gets annoying. Talk to your girl. Push her away way too much, or stop treating her like the queen she is, then I am pretty sure that she will find someone else willing to treat her right.
